Gepr\u00e4gt wurde ich hier vor allem durch interaktionistische und materiell-semiotische Perspektiven, wobei ich selbst einen multidisziplin\u00e4ren Ansatz vertrete. Qualitativ\/quantitativ und andere polarisierende Dichotomien stehen hinter der Angemessenheit der Methode gegen\u00fcber der Forschungsfrage. Im Kern geht es in meiner Forschung um den \u201ecommon sense\u201c: Zum einen als Kritik an der unhinterfragten \u00dcbernahme \u201enaturalisierter\u201c Kategorien im wissenschaftlichen Diskurs, wie sie insbesondere wieder in der Diskussion um japanische Popul\u00e4rkultur anzutreffen ist. Zum anderen als Wekzeug, als Forschungsperspektive: Sozialwissenschaftliche Forschung darf nicht am Schreibtisch stehen bleiben, sondern muss \u201eraus\u201c an die frische Luft. Daher setze ich in bei den mich interessierenden Fragen auf qualitative Interviews, Netzwerkanalysen und teilnehmende Beobachtung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meine Doktorarbeit, die sich mit globalen Netzwerken\/transnationalem Austausch, Identit\u00e4tsbildung und Internet-Communities am Beispiel von Erz\u00e4hl- und Rollenspielern in Japan, Deutschland und den USA besch\u00e4ftigte, wurde durch Stipendien des&nbsp;<a title=\"DIJ\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dijtokyo.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\">Deutschen Institut f\u00fcr Japanstudien<\/a>&nbsp;Tokyo (DIJ) und der <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fes.de\/de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung<\/a> (FES) erm\u00f6glicht.
